In this talk, Christina Lea Gilchrist and Joni-Lee Aikens will discuss how Canadian law puts sex workers at risk and how it increases the negative stigma we face. We will also be covering harm reduction practices specific to the sex work industry that we would like to see implemented in the KFL&A region. Come learn from sex workers with lived experience on how to be a good ally.

Decriminalizing sex work is key to improving safety and reducing harm of victim-blaming in sexual violence. The problem of sexual violence is not caused by sex workers, but rooted in the harmful patriarchal capitalist system that dehumanizes and justifies harming sex workers.
